The Florida AG's case asks: is an LLM like a toaster (strict product liability) or like a friend giving advice (no liability)? The answer will frame AI regulation for a decade. The LLM has no intent. But products liability law does not require intent. A defective toaster that burns down a house is the manufacturer's fault regardless of what the toaster "intended."
